MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a combat sport that combines the strengths of all the martial arts.

MMA fighters use striking, grappling and submission holds to overwhelm their opponents. They draws on techniques from jiu-jitsu, judo, boxing, muay thai and wrestling.

At a professional level it is a difficult and intense sport, but it does not need to be this way for beginners or hobbyists!

We break MMA down into easy parts and train it in a safe, friendly and fun way.

BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is one of the most proven martial arts on the planet.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focuses on using efficient joint-locks, throws, trips and chokes to control an opponent. The techniques are designed for people who may be smaller or weaker. And the focus is on controlling your opponent without needing to hit them.

It is hugely popular for self-defence, and is practiced by many of the world’s police and military forces. It is also a popular sport, and an essential part of mixed martial arts.

STRIKING

No martial artist is complete without knowing how to throw a punch!

Our striking program is diverse, to complement our focus on taking the best from all of the arts. Our striking coaches come from boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai backgrounds. You'll learn to use kicks, punches, knees and elbows to turn yourself into a well-rounded striker.

Our striking classes are safe and beginner friendly. Our goal is to build people, not break them!

WRESTLING

Wrestling is an Olympic sport that is older the Olympics themselves! It is a grappling sport that, unlike Brazilian jiu-jitsu which focuses on fighting on the ground, wrestling emphasises throws and pins from the standing position.

Wrestling is a popular option as a sport on its own, or to complement MMA and jiujitsu. Wrestling is a physically demanding sport and is a great way to build fitness while also learning a beautiful art.

As with all our programs we tailor wrestling to suit people of all experience and fitness levels.
